Augusta Public Library headquarters temporarily closed

The Augusta Public Library headquarters on Telfair Street in downtown Augusta is closed until further noticed.

The Augusta-Richmond County Public Library System made the announcement on its Facebook page Sunday evening.

“The library is not permanently closed. There was road work being conducted in front of the library. A water pipe was hit and caused the bathrooms to flood on the first floor. We’re working to fix this issue as soon as possible,” the library system said in the Facebook post.

Updates will be posted on the library website and social media.
