Amid the mayhem of April’s micro-invasion, there is an oasis on the horizon serving Masters-themed cocktails. The Indian Queen, reputed to flex a strong cocktail game, will feature several bevvies as a nod to our city’s “ultimate golf fan spring break.”

A Masters drink menu would be remiss not to feature a Transfusion, the favorite liquid invigoration at ANGC. This grape-flavored cocktail, fortified with vodka and brightened with lime juice, is equal parts effervescent and boozy, the perfect energizer for nine more holes or a late(r) night in Augusta. Sean, Indian Queen’s bartender, says it’s easy to make– I say it’s even easier to enjoy.

April in Augusta, served in an extra-chilly glass, is concocted from vodka, liqueurs and muddled strawberries. If you’re looking for something sweet, fresh and juicy, this drink checks all the boxes. I could have easily been coaxed to drink several of these, as their punch is disarmingly subtle.

The Green Eyes is a frothy, gin-based cocktail with an anise palate. Its composition is herbaceous and spicy, and the addition of green chartreuse (around 100-proof) makes it the heavy-hitter of the trio. The froth provides a delightfully heady, botanical nose. BONUS: Sean chills the glass before pouring. <swoon>

One of her favorite things to do is shout from the mountaintops how great Augusta is (and not just when there is alcohol involved). She will write a column on these great beverages on the first and third Fridays.
