The Augusta Sports Council (ASC) has recently announced that Wier/Stewart (W/S) will serve as the next presenting sponsor for the 17th annual Augusta Half Marathon, 10K and 5K event.

The 2025 event is set to have a Mardi Gras theme and will be held at the Augusta University Summerville campus on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025.

Wier/Stewart also played a key role in designing the new logo and branding for the 2025 event, according to a press release from the Augusta Sports Council.

Founder Alex Wier and President Daniel Stewart said, because they do not like to do anything halfway, with the exception of marathons, partnering with the Augusta Sports Council on the event “made sense.”

“Our team is so excited to have the support and creativity of the W/S team as we plan for our 2025 event,” said the Augusta Sports Council’s CEO, Michelle Pippin. “We are truly honored that they have chosen us as their inaugural sporting event partnership and look forward to adding a fun new theme that our participants and community can enjoy.”

As the event has been owned and hosted by the Augusta Sports Council since 2008, proceeds from the annual event supports the organization’s mission, and also contributes to the annual GAMES Scholarship program, which awards ten $1,000 to local graduating high school student athletes each spring.

Since 2011, the ASC has awarded over $78,000 in college scholarships to 68 graduating high school student athletes in the Augusta community,” according to a press release from MCG.

Online registration and additional event details for the Augusta Half Marathon, 10K and 5K presented by Wier/Stewart can be found at www.augustahalf.org.
