On Friday, March 22, the Augusta Symphony held their student discovery concert at Miller Theater.

The purpose of the discovery concert is to allow local elementary, middle, and high school students to listen to a live symphony orchestra. This year’s concert was the 36th annual concert.

Over 1,200 students and educators experienced this year’s discovery concert, which was themed as an exploration of U.S. national parks and major cities. They were able to see and experience each place the music brought them through the video tour.

Past discovery concerts include Symphony of Illusions, which featured master illusionist Michael Grandinetti; Holst’s The Planets with NASA video and images; and Dvorak’s Symphony No. 7 with pictures of the Czech Republic.
