Augusta Technical College has announced that Greg Dozier, commissioner of the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), will serve as the keynote speaker for its 2025 Commencement Ceremony, taking place Saturday, June 7, at the Bell Auditorium.

The college will celebrate its graduating class with two separate ceremonies, according to a press release from Augusta Tech.

The morning ceremony, beginning at 9:30 a.m., will honor graduates from the School of Health Sciences and the T.R. Reddy School of Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Technology.

The afternoon ceremony, starting at 1:30 p.m., will recognize graduates from Adult Education, the School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business, Cyber and Design, and the School of Public and Professional Services.

Commissioner Dozier, who leads the 22 technical colleges in Georgia and oversees a workforce of more than 12,000 employees and a $1.1 billion annual budget, is expected to deliver remarks aimed at inspiring graduates as they transition into the workforce and pursue further education.

Known for his leadership and dedication to workforce development, Dozier’s speech is anticipated to underscore the value of technical education and the opportunities it provides, according to a press release from Augusta Tech.

“We are honored to welcome Commissioner Dozier as our keynote speaker,” said Augusta Technical College President Jermaine Whirl. “His leadership within the Technical College System of Georgia has had a profound impact on students across the state, and we know his message will resonate with our graduates.”

The ceremonies will also include an invocation and benediction delivered by Reverend Anthony M. Booker, pastor of Broadway Baptist Church.

To ensure accessibility for family and friends, both ceremonies will be streamed live on Augusta Technical College’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
