A hungry Augusta teen is accused of stabbing his mother in the face and body Friday for refusing to make him a meal fast enough, authorities said.
Davion Pinkston, 17, asked his mother to make him something to eat Friday afternoon while she was busy cleaning inside their residence on Skinner Mill Road, authorities said. She replied that she would prepare something once she was done. That is when he picked up an 8-inch knife and began stabbing her, according to the sheriff’s office.
The 46-year-old victim sustained stab wounds to the back of the head, face, her right eye, her hands and the side of her breasts. She was taken to Wellstar MCG Hospital and was listed in stable condition.
Pinkston was booked Saturday morning for aggravated assault and weapon possession. The teen’s 4-year-old sister was present at the time and witnessed the violence, leading officers to add a charge of cruelty to children in the first degree.
Pinkston was being held without bond Sunday night at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center, where inmates learn quickly: you get food when they say you get food.
