Before GrubHub and DoorDash had a presence in the Garden City, Augusta To Go provided restaurant delivery to residents.

“We’ve lived in Georgia most of our lives and are UGA grads. We’re huge on local,” said Trevor Dow, who along with Lindsey Teague, moved to the area four years ago to fill a void in the food delivery arena.

The couple had started similar delivery services in other cities and was drawn to Augusta for several reasons, including its large number of locally-owned restaurants and its proximity to I-20.

Augusta To Go works with more than 150 different restaurants and has exclusive agreements with some locally-owned ones such as New Moon Café, Pizza Joint, Humanitree House, Boll Weevil, Farmhaus, Frog and Hen, and TBonz, he said. The business also works with Augusta Locally Grown to provide delivery options with local growers.

Augusta To Go delivers in Augusta, North Augusta, Grovetown, Evans and Martinez. Before COVID-19, drivers could deliver to Fort Gordon as well, but that was shut down during the pandemic. Dow said he’s hopeful to be able to reopen Fort Gordon service soon.

“We have a 10-mile delivery radius,” he said. “For food quality, 10 miles is the limit to keep food fresh.”

Dow said Augusta To Go offers flexible work options and has more than 100 drivers and he vets them before they start driving.

Each week, Augusta To Go highlights a different business and offers 15% off delivery.

One of the pieces of customer feedback Dow said he enjoys hearing is that many people use the service to try out new restaurants before visiting there in person.
