The Augusta University Presidential Search Committee is formally inviting students, staff and community members to join in on the hunt for a new university president.

Preparing for current AU President Brooks Keel’s retirement, starting at the end of spring 2024, members of the official search committee will be hosting several listening sessions on Dec. 6 and 7.

While many will be hosted for AU staff, faculty and students, only one public session will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 6, from 5:30 to 6:20 p.m. at the Jaguar Student Activities Center Ballroom, which can be found at 2500 Walton Way.

For those who wish to attend virtually, a Zoom call will also be hosted in conjunction with the session. Parties interested in attending the zoom meeting can visit: https://augusta-edu.zoom.us/j/97008332176

However, a recent email from AU stated that those who cannot attend the designated public session – either in-person or online – are allowed to join any other of the scheduled meetings.

“The goal of these listening sessions is to hear from you about the qualities and qualifications that you seek in the next president,” stated a recent email from Presidential Search Committee Chair Jim Hull. “This is your chance to share your thoughts and ideas about the presidential priorities and your aspirations for the university.”
