An Augusta University student was arrested for aggravated stalking on Monday, Nov. 30.
Alvin Johnson Jr., 39, was arrested on campus after multiple reports were filed by various students and staff of Augusta University.
The most recent report against Johnson was filed on the afternoon of Tuesday Nov. 29 by an unknown complainant. She told Augusta University police that she and Johnson became friends in August. Not soon after, he began to display stalker-like behavior. Johnson would show up after the complainant’s classes. He would also follow closely behind her when she walked to her car after class.
The complainant went on to say that on three occasions Johnson picked her up bridal-style and kissed her against her wishes.

Title XI Coordinator Julia Kneuker was also contacted after this report so she could identify Johnson. According to the report, Kneuker told officers Johnson has been seen several times in the Wellness Center gym staring at female students and faculty. She also said several women stated that Johnson would act like he was staring at his phone while following them. He was given a verbal warning by Kneuker over the phone for the incidents.
According to the report, the Richmond County Sheriff’s office has had a warrant for Johnson for aggravated stalking since July 14.
After the most recent report, campus police officer checked Johnson’s class schedule and found he had an afternoon class in Allgood Hall. He did not attend class when officers went to question him. Johnson was apprehended the next day as August University police observed his car pulling into a parking lot at the Health Sciences campus.
Following his arrest, officers also confiscated a university laptop and charger Johnson had with him.
