On Tuesday afternoon, authorities issued an alert for 50-year-old Craig Kenneth Morgan, who is wanted for questioning in reference to the murder. Morgan is known to frequent the Mom & Pops/Calvin’s area of Broad Street, according to a Wanted Poster.

WANTED POSTER FROM RCSO

Morgan is described as 5’5″ tall and 120 pounds. Anyone with information as to Morgan’s location is asked to contact Inv. Ken Rogers or any other Violent Crimes Investigator on duty with the Sheriff’s Office at (706) 821-1075 or (706) 821-1080.

A sheriff’s report sheds light on the homicide. A witness said she had talked to the victim around lunchtime Friday and she was fine. The woman came to Moore’s home on Saturday because “someone said she was inside of the residence crying and wouldn’t come to the door,” the report says.

“When she went inside, she found Moore laying on the bedroom floor of the residence, and that’s when she called 911,” the report says. “Angela Moore had multiple serious injuries … consistent with getting assaulted.”

The suspect who is wanted for questioning was arrested in February 2018 for felony theft by  taking, which was later dismissed. In August 2016, he was arrested for first-degree burglary and theft by taking,. He was convicted under the First Offender Act and given a year in jail and probation.
