An Augusta felon is facing multiple charges following a domestic violence incident that resulted in a gunshot wound – to him!

Just after midnight Thursday, deputies responded to Wellstar Emergency Room after an individual arrived with a gunshot wound to the upper arm. The man, identified as 35-year-old Quentin Price claimed he was shot by an unknown person while sitting in a field. However, further investigation revealed a connection to a domestic violence incident earlier in the evening at a residence on the 3100 block of Blackmon Court.

According to authorities, Price had been involved in a physical altercation with the victim inside her home. The victim managed to lock herself in a bedroom, but Price attempted to force his way inside while armed with a firearm. In defense, the victim retrieved her own weapon and fired a shot through the door, striking Price in the arm. Price then fled the scene.

Deputies had been looking for Price prior to investigators responding to the Wellstar Emergency Room for his gunshot wound. He was subsequently arrested and committed to the Charles B. Webster Detention Center on charges of kidnapping, false imprisonment, terroristic threats and acts, weapon possession and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Price is a felon with a record of drug dealing and robbery as well as multiple arrests for marijuana possession and obstruction of officers. In 2018, he was sentenced to five years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
