Folks looking to catch a movie this weekend will have a familiar venue available to them once again. Regal Cinemas at 1144 Agerton Lane in the Augusta Exchange is opening Friday, and with no shortage of screens up and running.

Nearly 20 different productions are available in the theater chain’s first day back after over a year of suspended business, such as “Mortal Kombat,” “Godzilla vs. King Kong” and “Minari.”

Mask-wearing and social distancing will still be enforced, so don’t expect packed-out showings right out of the gate.

Augusta’s Riverwatch Luxury Cinemas is currently operating on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The same applies for Georgia Theater Company’s Evans location. The GTC Masters Cinemas discount location was a casualty of the pandemic and will not be re-opening.
