Aurubis is getting a local helping hand with its development in Augusta.

The German metal recycler and Augusta staffing firm Loop have announced a partnership for the company’s expansion into U.S. markets, effective since last month.

Loop will be supporting Aurubis by managing talent sourcing and retention, overseeing the fulfillment of some 200 roles the copper manufacturer expects to bring to Augusta over the next two years.

“We’re excited for Aurubis, for our team, and for the Augusta business community,” said Jason Kennedy, one of the founding partners of Loop. “Aurubis is the best in the world at what they do and everyone at Loop is eager to introduce them to the world-class talent right here in Augusta.”

Loop Recruiting, which launched in 2015, is headquartered in Augusta, with its office on 972 Broad St. It also has branches in Atlanta and in Spartanburg, S.C. Its specialty is tech industry staffing in areas such as  software development, digital marketing and even call center work.

The Aurubis website is already showing 13 listings for jobseekers, including for contract manager, production manager and, in the supply chain management department, lab manager and logistics manager.

“We want to become the employer of choice in the Augusta Metropolitan area,” said Jörg Buccholz, managing director of Aurubis Richmond.

Aurubis broke ground on its manufacturing plant, Aurubis Richmond, in Augusta Corporate Park last summer, and announced at the end of 2022 that it would be expanding its facility and capabilities my nearly double, investing some $600 million in its CSRA presence. The facility is expected to open by the end of this year, fully operating by next year and complete, with expansions, by 2026.
