Though the Jaguars didn’t bring home a national championship this season, this season felt like a turning point in their program.

The team as a whole finished 28th in the tournament, shooting 39-over-par. A costly second round is what knocked them out of the tournament, where they shot 22-over-par in that round alone.

Oklahoma State was the team National Champion and the individual champion was Michael La Sasso from Ole Miss, who won the tournament by two strokes over Texas A&M’s Phichaksn Maichon.

Augusta was led by Bo Blanchard, who shot five-over-par for the tournament, firing off rounds of 75, 74 and 72.

He had a tough first nine in the first round that just got him a little off track.

Stefan Jacobs finished second for the Jaguars with a 10-over-par score and third was Chapman Barnett at 12-over-par.

The reason just making it to nationals felt so big was because the program hadn’t been since 2018.

The good news for Coach Steven Paine and his squad is that they return almost all of their talent from this year and look primed to make another run at it next season.

Augusta will get the summer off and practice before returning to action in September.
