A Beech Island man’s Father’s Day weekend got off to a bad start when he was arrested for stealing his father’s brief case and went downhill from there.

Aiken County sheriff deputies obtained a warrant on Friday, June 17 for the arrest of Michael Bray, 31, after his father, Tread Bray, reported the theft of a brief case from his bedroom closet. The warrant accused Bray of larceny.

On Sunday, June 21, Bray was arrested for malicious injury to personal property after breaking the windows of another man’s vehicle in a Family Dollar parking lot.

Aiken County deputies responded to a call from Dyshawn Thomas Father’s Day afternoon regarding the vandalism.

Thomas told the deputies that her boyfriend, Tyrone Holley, had taken her vehicle to grab some items at the Family Dollar on Sand Bar Ferry Road in Beech Island, according to the report from the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

Holley and Michael Bray argued in the parking lot about a water bottle. Holley continued into the store, and after completing his shopping, Holley returned to the vehicle to find his windows smashed.

Deputies went to the Family Dollar and found Bray inside the store. Bray admitted to damaging the vehicle, according to the report. Deputies took him to the Aiken County Detention Center.
