A beloved member of the Augusta biker community was killed this week in a tragic accident while working on a roof.

Joshua Bennett, 21, fell through a skylight Wednesday afternoon while working on a roof at 1665 Nixon Road in Augusta, according to Coroner Mark Bowen. He was rushed to Augusta University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 3:06 p.m.

The building where the accident happened matches the location of the old Davis Machine & Welding Company off Old Savannah Road. It was reportedly sold recently and was being renovated.

An autopsy on the accidental death was completed Friday, the coroner said.

Bennett was honored with multiple posts on Facebook as a member of the 706 Bike Life Boys.

“Josh Bennett, you’ll be missed man,” said Brittney Nicole. “It was always a vibe with you around! You showed up for Bryce on so many levels for our family & it’s forever appreciated.”

Marie Savage said, “I know you hit those gold streets on the back tire bro!! Save us a spot!!!”

He was the father of a young son, according to his fiancée, Sage Bennett, who is asking for prayers.
