Date: May 20, 2025

A woman on a bicycle was killed early Monday after being struck by a vehicle while riding on Peach Orchard Road, authorities said.

Jolene Davis, 42, of Augusta, was traveling northbound on Peach Orchard Road at Willis Foreman Road round 4:44 a.m. Monday. She was struck by a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene at 5:32 a.m., Coroner Mark Bowen said.

The sheriff’s office did not release any additional information on the driver or possible charges.

It is the second bicyclist in the past year to be killed in Richmond County. On Sept. 19, 2024, Troneisha Holiday, 36, was riding her bike on the 3600 block of Deans Bridge Road south of Morgan Road when she was struck by a vehicle. Holiday was pronounced dead on the scene at 10:04 p.m. that day.
