Something big is coming to Columbia County.

Friday through Sunday, Evans Towne Center Park will welcome The Big Bounce America, an amusement tour that includes the world’s largest inflatable bounce house.

“You get two hours of inflatable madness,” said Janet Wheatley, programs and events manager for Columbia County’s community services department. “An hour in the world’s biggest bounce house and an hour in the Giant, world’s biggest inflatable obstacle course.”

The Giant boasts over 900 feet of flamboyant, pliable spirals, expandible monsters, elastic crawlspaces and blowup slides and landscapes.

The World’s Biggest Bounce House can boast its moniker from its breadth of over 13,000 square feet and height of over 32 feet. This is enough to fit a multitude of attractions within, including a ball pit, basketball hoops and giant furniture.

The inflatable theme park, developed by Scottish company XL Event Labs, regularly comes to big cities such as Charlotte and Atlanta. Evans first hosted the traveling playground in 2019 but had to hold off bringing it back in 2020 due to COVID-19.

Tickets get parkgoers two hours’ worth of time, one hour in the World’s Biggest Bounce House and one in the Giant or some of the other attractions.

Wheatley says the county may come to bring The Big Bounce America to Evans annually, but several factors, including weather, will determine how often Columbia County residents will get to jump into the Big Bounce experience.

“We tried to bring it several times before, but the date shifted,” said Wheatley. “We’re going to see how this year goes and decide for next year.”

Over 400 reserved tickets have already been resold. Since 180 people can enjoy inflatable structures at a time, there are still slots open throughout the weekend. As large as they are, there should be plenty of jumping, springing and fun freefalling to go around.

“It just seemed like a fun activity, something to bring to the community,” said Wheatley. “Who doesn’t want to bounce in the World’s Biggest Bounce House, even as an adult or a teenager!”

The Big Bounce America will be at Evans Towne Center Park Oct. 8 – 10. For information about times and tickets visit www.Columbiacountyga.gov.
