Body found during search for Aiken County man

Date: May 10, 2024

No foul play is suspected after the discovery of a man’s body Thursday during the search for a missing person in Aiken County.

Just after 4 p.m. Thursday, deputies were looking for 52-year-old Calvin Levon Edwards on the 100 block of Hunters Branch Road. A male’s body was found in the search, but the coroner is not confirming an identity until the legal next-of kin has been properly notified.

“No foul play is suspected at this time,” the coroner said in his release.

The discovery came just hours after a missing flyer went out for Edwards, who was last seen the day before walking toward a pond near Hunter Branch Road in the Salley area.
