Body found in Savannah River near Marina

Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen has confirmed that a body was discovered in the Savannah River. The unknown Black male was pronounced dead at 8:25 pm. The body was spotted near the Augusta Marina.

According to Bowen, the deceased had no identification with him.

“He’s been in the water for a while, so we are going to have to send the body to Atlanta to get an identification,” Bowen said.

No further information is available at this time.
