Boil water advisory lifted for Augusta

Date: October 05, 2024

The boil water advisory issued for Augusta-Richmond County on Monday, Sept. 30 has been lifted as of Friday, Oct. 4.

The city sent out a press release with the announcement on Friday stating that water quality testing has confirmed the tap water meets the regulatory standards and is safe for people to drink. Customers do not need to boil water for drinking, cooking or making ice, but should flush lines by opening the cold water faucet to let the water run for about two minutes.

“We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience,” the county said in the news release. “If you have any questions or concerns, please contact 311 using the mobile app.”
