Bond granted to woman accused of stealing from elderly patient

A nursing assistant accused of stealing from the resident of a personal care home was granted bond Tuesday, June 21, with specific restrictions.

Lakisha D. Harrison, 42, has been in the Columbia County jail since May 5. She is accused of exploitation of an elderly person.

Harrison, who has a lengthy history of financial crimes, is accused of stealing from an elderly victim Jan. 1, 2018, to May 15, 2019, said Assistant District Attorney Ashley Muller.

Tuesday in Columbia County Superior Court, Chief Judge James G. Blanchard Jr. granted Harrison a $15,000 bond with conditions _ she cannot work as a nursing assistant or work with any elderly adult, she must be on electronic monitoring, and she must enter the Hope House program.
