It’s official. Amber Brantley is announcing her campaign for Augusta Circuit District Attorney at a Sunday event.

Brantley, currently senior assistant district attorney for the Columbia County Circuit, is challenging Augusta DA Jared Williams in the May 21, 2024 Democratic primary.

Brantley was recently honored as the assistant district attorney of the year by the Georgia Bar Association. She previously worked as chief assistant prosecutor and trial team leader for the Richmond County Solicitor’s domestic violence accountability court.

“I’m not just a lawyer; I’m a member of this community, and my heart is deeply invested in its well-being,” Brantley said in a statement. “I understand justice is a nuanced field that requires balancing convictions and compassion.”

Brantley invited the public to her campaign launch, set for 3 p.m. Sunday in the Starch Room at Enterprise Mill, 1450 Greene St. in Augusta.
