Brief: Grovetown City Council meeting on Monday, May 13

The Grovetown City Council voted to adopt its new budget for fiscal year 2024-2025, during its monthly meeting Monday evening.

Earlier in the proceedings, District 4 Commissioner Alison Couch provided updates regarding infrastructure projects and issues, including improvements at Old Berzelia and Harlem Grovetown roads, and at the intersection of Harlem Grovetown and Lewiston roads.

The council continued its new tradition, which began in last month’s meeting, of recognizing local Vietnam War veterans, this month honoring the late Sgt. 1st Class Gerald John Moore.

The Author

Skyler Andrews is a bona fide native of the CSRA; born in Augusta, raised in Aiken, with family roots in Edgefield County, S.C., and presently residing in the Augusta area. A graduate of University of South Carolina - Aiken with a Bachelor of Arts in English, he has produced content for Verge Magazine, The Aiken Standard and the Augusta Conventions and Visitors Bureau. Amid working various jobs from pest control to life insurance and real estate, he is also an active in the Augusta arts community; writing plays, short stories and spoken-word pieces.
