A Keysville code enforcement officer has been arrested for impersonating an officer for allegedly pulling people over people for traffic stops without authority.
Ronald L. O’Brien, of Keysville, was arrested on Monday by the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.
“The Burke County Sheriff’s Office became aware that O’Brien who is a Code Enforcement Officer for the city of Keysville, GA was initiating traffic stops on citizens in the area utilizing a city owned vehicle he installed blue flashing lights in,” a Burke County Sheriff’s Office press release says. “O’Brien, who is not a state certified Law Enforcement Officer, was conducting these stops illegally.”
The sheriff’s office is asking anyone who has ever been stopped by Ronald L. O’Brien to contact the Burke County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at (706) 554-6633.
