Burke County man arrested for murder

Joshua Glendell Hammock of Girard, Ga. has been arrested for murder, according to the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a shooting call 1211 Tom Bargeron Road in Sardis, according to a press release. At the scene they found Jason Fort deceased.

The preliminary investigation found that Hammock shot Fort after a confrontation.

Hammock was committed to the Burke County Detention Center for murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
