Butler and Westside High Schools will meet on the basketball court one more time this season, and it’s for all the bragging rights as the squads go head-to-head in the state championship game Thursday in Macon.
Butler beat Woodville Tompkins Friday 66-45, and Westside beat Macon’s Northeast 73-55 to advance to the state championship.

Butler led by only six at the half but dominated the second half. Westside kept a lead over Northeast for the entire game as well.
The Patriots had lost to Butler twice during the regular season before but pulled it off on the Bulldogs’ home floor when it mattered most. The third time was a charm for the Patriots as Westside defeated Butler 52-38 in the 4-AA Regional Championship game on Friday, Feb. 18.

The game is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Macon Coliseum.
