  • Today is the final day of the Foodees festival in downtown Augusta. The event, which will feature over 50 food trucks, will take place on the Freedom Bridge, 5th Street and Reynolds Street. For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com/foodeesfest.

Thursday, Nov. 9

  • The City of Grovetown will hold a Veterans Day ceremony from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Veterans Park next to City Hall. The guest speaker will be Major Eric Rowland. For more information, visit the City of Grovetown Facebook or call Liberty Park Community Center at 706-660-7691.

Saturday, Nov. 11

  • The VFW 12190 will host a Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. at the Memorial Wall behind the library at Evans Towne Center.
  • CSRA Veterans Day parade will take place at 10 a.m. The parade will travel from 14th Street at Broad Street to Fifth Street. For more information, visit the CSRA Veterans Day Parade Facebook page.
  • The City of Blythe will hold a Veterans Day celebration and cookout at 2 p.m. at the Blythe City Hall/Community Center. Those who are planning to attend are asked to RSVP by calling city hall at 706-592-6255.

  • The Feast before the Feast, a free Thanksgiving meal sponsored by numerous local groups, returns this year to four locations: Community centers at McBean, McDuffie Woods, Carrie J. Mays and Bernie Ward and Oak Point public housing complex. Turkey, ham, yams, green beans and all the traditional fixings will be offered at the sites from 5-8 p.m. Nov. 16.

  • The Aiken Fall Steeplechase will take place at 2020 Richland Ave. East, Aiken, S.C. 29801. The gates open at 8 a.m. with the first race starting at 1 p.m. For more information, visit https://aikensteeplechase.com
  • Gingerbread Fun Day will be held at the Augusta Museum of History from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Children of all ages are invited enjoy a reading of “The Gingerbread Man” by Jim Aylesworth with a craft following the story. This event is free to the public. Those interested in participating are asked to sign up in advance online.
  • The Grovetown Police Department is holding its first “Cruisin’ For Christmas” car show on Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Liberty Park Community Center All of the proceeds will go toward providing Christmas gifts for underprivileged children in the city.
