Sunday, Jan. 12

  • The CSRA BrickCon will be held from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Evans Library. For more information, visit the event Facebook page

Monday, Jan. 13

  • The Richmond County Board of Elections will meet at 6 p.m. in the Linda Beazley room of the Municipal Building, 535 Telfair St.
  • The Richmond County Board of Assessors will hold its regular session at 4 p.m. in the Augusta Richmond County Municipal Building, Room 291 or 120. Agendas are available to the public the Friday prior to the meeting.
  • Grovetown City Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at Grovetown City Hall. For more information, visit cityofgrovetown.com
  • The regularly scheduled Tuesday Augusta Commission special called and committee meetings have been rescheduled to 11 a.m. in the Lee N. Beard Commission Chamber, 535 Telfair St.
  • The Richmond County Board of Education reorganizational meeting will meet at 4 p.m. in the  Richmond County Board of Education auditorium, 864 Broad St. A called meeting will be held following the reorganizational meeting.

  • Richmond County Board of Education will hold its first public hearing regarding opting out of the Statewide Adjusted Base Year Ad Valorem Homestead Exemption. The public hearing will be held at 4 p.m. at the Board of Education office on Broad Street. 
  • The Columbia County Board of Education will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Board of Education office. For more information, visit ccboe.net.

Wednesday, Jan. 15

  • The 15th annual Jimmie Dyess Symposium will be held from 5-6 p.m. at the Augusta Museum of History. The symposium was created and developed to recognize Marine Lieutenant Colonel Jimmie Dyess’s courage as both a citizen and a service member of the United States Marines and to identify others who have shown similar valor or made civic contributions above and beyond the call of duty. The honorees and speakers are Dr. Mac Bowman, Dr. Linda Tucciarone, and Medal of Honor recipient, Major (Ret. Army) James A. Taylor. This is a free event.

Thursday, Jan. 23 

  • “Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus” comedy show will come to Miller Theater. This is an adults only show because of mature themes. Tickets are now available. For more information, visit the Miller Theater website.

  • The University of South Carolina Aiken, in partnership with Aiken Technical College, will host the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration. The service fair will be at 2:30 p.m. and the ceremony will begin at 3 p.m.
