- Bela Family Dentistry will donate a smile makeover to a veteran. To nominate a veteran, submit a photo of his/her smile and a short nomination story at https://www.beladentistry.com/veteran-smile-makeover/. The nomination deadline is Dec. 18, and the winner will be announced on Dec. 25. Bela Family Dentistry locations include Augusta, Aiken, Edgefield, Wagener, Lexington, Newberry and Columbia, S.C.
- The Holiday Market at the Marina started Nov. 12 and will be held every Sunday through Dec. 17 from noon to 4 p.m.
- The Annual Christmas in Hopelands event will feature a walk-through exhibit features over two miles of illuminated displays and lighted pathways, along with over 100,000 lights. The event will run from Dec. 9-22 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. A shuttle will depart from Citizens Park, 1060 Banks Mill Road from 5:45 p.m.-8:45 p.m. Handicap parking is available at 135 Dupree Place.
Sunday, Dec. 10
- Christmas at First Sunday, will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Augusta, 3500 Walton way as the church celebrate Christmas with music from our Adult Choir and orchestra. This free, family friendly concert will be sure to help celebrate the season.
- The North Augusta Christmas parade will be Sunday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. in downtown North Augusta. For more information, visit the North Augusta Lions Club Facebook page.
- Christmas Blast will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Stevens Creek Church Augusta campus, 600 Stevens Creek Road, Augusta. There will be pictures with Santa, food trucks and fireworks. For more information, visit the Facebook event page.
- Edgefield County’s annual Tour of Churches walking tour will begin at 3 p.m. at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church on Buncombe Street. The tour includes First Baptist Church, Trinity Episcopal Church and Edgefield United Methodist Church. At each church, a part of the Christmas Story will be told, and actors, playing the parts of Mary, Joseph, the Angels, the Shepherds, and the Wise Men, will lead the walking procession from church to church. A bus will be provided for those who prefer not to walk. Following the Tour, a Christmas reception will be held at the Society’s house museum, Magnolia Dale, on Norris Street across from the Methodist Church.
