  • Columbia County Spring Fair will be April 19-28 at the Columbia County Fairgrounds. For more information, visit https://columbiacountyfair.net.
  • The Augusta Market on the River began March 16 and will run through Nov. 16. The market will be held at 8thStreet and Reynolds Street. For more information, visit https://www.theaugustamarket.com

  • The 2024 Summerville PorchFest will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, visit https://summervilleporchfest.com
  • The spring meeting of the Edgefield County Historical Society will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Curryton Academy Park in the Meriwether section of Edgefield County. Curryton Academy Park has one of the most magnificent Magnolia trees in South Carolina. Prior to the spring meeting, the Historical Society will be erecting interpretive signage telling the story of the Academy and the Magnolia Tree. At the conclusion of the spring meeting program, the Society will host a reception under the tree. The public is invited to attend. The park is located on Annison Point Court off of Mealing Road (near the intersection of Curryton Rd) in North Augusta, South Carolina 29860.

Tuesday, April 30

  • The Augusta Commission will hold a special called meeting at 11 a.m. in the Municipal Building. For more information, visit augustaga.gov
  • The Augusta Public Services Committee, Engineering Services Committee, Finance Committee, Augusta Public Safety Committee and the Augusta Administrative Services Committee will meet in the Municipal Building.   • The Columbia County Board of Education will hold a budget presentation and question and answer session at 8 a.m. at the Board of Education office.

  • The 25th Annual Pendleton King Park plant sale will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Franke Pavilion at Pendleton King Park, 1600 Troupe St. There will be plants grown by master gardeners, vendors on site with plants and garden related items.   •  The Jewish Community will host its Annual Holocaust Program to remember and honor the millions of lives lost. The program will include memorials, music by young performers and a guided interview: “Breaking the silence – Generations after the Holocaust.” The event will take place at Adas Yeshurun Synagogue, 935 Johns Road, Augusta, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

  • The Richmond County Board of Education will hold a called meeting at 3 p.m. for the initial presentation of the fiscal year 2025 in the board room auditorium at the Central Office.

  • The Columbia County Board of Education will hold a budget presentation and question and answer session at 4:30 p.m. at the Board of Education office.
