Monday April 21

  • The Augusta Commission’s study committee on residential building meets at 1 p.m. Monday at the Augusta Municipal Building, either in Room 291 or the Linda Beazley Community Room. The committee will review policies, procedures and codes.
  • The Augusta Charter Review Committee will meet from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the commission chambers at the Municipal Building.

Tuesday, April 22

  • The Columbia County Board of Commissioners committees will meet at 8:30 a.m. in the auditorium at the Evans Government Center Complex. For more information, visit columbiacountyga.gov
  • The Richmond County Board of Commissioners committees will meet starting at 1 p.m. in the Municipal Building. For more information, visit augustaga.gov
  • The Richmond County Board of Education committee meetings will be held at 4 p.m. and the regular board meeting will be held immediately following the committee meeting. For more information, visit rcboe.org
  • The Columbia County Board of Education will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Board of Education office on Hereford Farm Road. For more information, visit ccboe.net.  
  • The Augusta Commission has a special called meeting at 11 a.m. Tuesday to hold an executive session to discuss personnel.
  • The Columbia County School District (CCSD) will hold a career fair from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. at the CCSD Support Department Complex, located at 4395 River Watch Parkway in Evans.

  • The Augusta Symphony will present Star Wars: A New Hope in concert at the Miller Theater. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert will start at 7:30 p.m. This event will feature a screening of the film with composer John Williams’ iconic Oscar®-winning score performed live by the Augusta Symphony.   • America’s Boating Club Clarks Hill/Thurmond Lake in partnership with the C.A.S.T for Kids Foundation will hold a C.A.S.T. for Kids event at the Dorn Fishing Facility in McCormick, S.C. This will be a free boating and fishing event for children with special needs.  The event is open to all children, ages 6-18, no matter what their disability.  Participants must pre-register online at https://castforkids.org/event/lakethurmond/ and the space is limited to the first 40 children who register.
