  • Evans on Ice will run through Jan. 15, 2024 at Evans Towne Center Park. For more information, visit https://evansonice.com.  
  • Bela Family Dentistry will donate a smile makeover to a veteran. To nominate a veteran, submit a photo of his/her smile and a short nomination story at https://www.beladentistry.com/veteran-smile-makeover/. The nomination deadline is Dec. 18, and the winner will be announced on Dec. 25. Bela Family Dentistry locations include Augusta, Aiken, Edgefield, Wagener, Lexington, Newberry and Columbia, S.C.
  • The Holiday Market at the Marina will start Nov. 12 and will be held every Sunday through Dec. 17 from noon to 4 p.m.
  • The Annual Christmas in Hopelands event will feature a walk-through exhibit features over two miles of illuminated displays and lighted pathways, along with over 100,000 lights. The event will run from Dec. 9-22 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. A shuttle will depart from Citizens Park, 1060 Banks Mill Road from 5:45 p.m.-8:45 p.m. Handicap parking is available at 135 Dupree Place.

  • The Columbia County Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. in the auditorium at the Evans Government Center complex.

Wednesday, Dec. 20

  • Christmas candlelight service at Victory will take place at 7 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church. For more information, visit the Facebook event.

Thursday, Dec. 21

  • The Harlem City Council will meet for its work session and regular meeting at 7 p.m. at the Public Safety Building at 110 W. Milledgeville Road.
  • The Columbia County Planning Commission will meet at 6 p.m. in the auditorium of the Evans Government Center complex.
  • Columbia County community blood drive will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 650 Ronald Regan Drive. For more information, visit columbiacountyga.gov.
  • The Grovetown Police Department will be holding a child safety seat check from 10 a.m. – noon at the Grovetown Municipal Court (113 E. Robinson Ave.). Law enforcement will teach how to properly install a child’s safety seat. For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com/GrovetownPolice
