Canine Pawsabilities Rescues Special-Needs Dogs

Date: January 25, 2021

Canine Pawsabilities rescues puppy mill, hoarder, retired breeder, euthanasia, medically and behaviorally challenged dogs from the CSRA and other states, according to Robin Lynn, who is the owner of the 501C3 nonprofit.

Lynn said that they also take in strays and owner surrenders.

Canine Pawsablilities is a foster-based rescue, meaning the animals are kept in the homes of their fosters. Lynn says this is where the dogs learn how to trust in people while being prepared for new homes.

The rescue hosts meet and greets with their available dogs on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at PetSmart located at 225 Robert C Daniel Parkway Augusta, GA 30909.

Canine Pawsabilities was founded in May of 2020 in Aiken, S.C.

The group charges an adoption fee of $250 for each dog. That fee covers the following veterinary services:

-yearly dh2pp

-rabies

-bortadella

-microchip

-spay

-full dental with extractions

-wormed and parasite treated

-flea and tick prevention current

-heartworm prevention current

-heartworm negative status

Chewy

Chewy is a female black and white chihuahua between 6 and 7 years old. She weighs in at 11 pounds. Chewy is a feral rescue who was discovered without proper food and shelter. Chewy is the proud mother of one puppy who has found his own forever home. Sadly, her other three pups did not survive. Chewy is ready for her forever home.

Mila

Mila is a female, blond, deer head chihuahua between 2 and 3 years old who weighs 11 pounds. She was found with Chewy without proper food and shelter. She is a mother of five puppies, all of whom have found their own homes. Now, Mila is ready for her own forever home.

Bandit

Bandit is an adult silver Shih Tzu who weighs 13 pounds. He is deaf and blind; however, he maneuvers through vibrations and smell. Bandit needs a quiet home with relaxed dogs. Bandit suffered with flea dermatitis and is in the process of growing his fur back. Bandit does have accidents in the home.

Sasha

Sasha is a 7-year-old apple head, long coat chihuahua who weighs 4 pounds. She is a former grand champion show dog. Upon retirement, Sasha became a breeding dog.

Sasha has epilepsy and will need to remain on medication for the rest of her life. She does well with her condition; however, she will need supervision for possible grand mal episodes, so her ideal adopter would be a full-time homebody. She does well with other pets and mature children. Potty-training is a work in progress.
