Car theft at Augusta University Health Sciences Campus

A car theft occurred at Augusta University’s Health Sciences campus last month.

On Saturday, March 18 at about 10 p.m., Brayden Bailey parked her 2012 black Volkswagen Jetta, valued at approximately $8,000, in parking lot #3 at the student center located at 1488 Laney Walker Blvd., according to police records.

When Bailey, 18, returned to the lot on Tuesday, March 21 at about 11:30 a.m., her car was missing, and she contacted the Augusta University Police Department to file a report.

No cameras are in the area of the parking lot to check if someone stole the vehicle, according to records.

On Wednesday, March 22 at about 12:37 a.m., the Augusta University Police Department was informed that the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office deputies located the vehicle. The doors were locked.

The vehicle was towed to Don’s Towing on 12th Street. No arrest has been made, according to police records.
