A water main break has temporarily left Cedar Ridge Elementary School and Grovetown Middle School without water Thursday morning.

According to a notice from Columbia County School District, officials have estimated the water will be restored by approximately 10 a.m.

“The break did not occur on either campus and we will make every effort to continue school operations as normally as possible. Grab-and-go pre-prepackaged breakfasts will be available and we encourage parents to send their students to school with water bottles. Bottles of water will be available at the school as needed for students and staff.” the district said.

As of Thursday morning, there have been no changes to the school schedule. However, notice will be sent out if there is a change.

According to the City of Grovetown Facebook page, the water main break occurred last night in the area of the Grovetown Trails at Euchee Creek. Crews worked overnight on the issue and expect it to be resolved Thursday morning.
