Put Your Name To It at the Augusta Metro Chamber’s Women in Business Series on Nov. 16

Join chamber members and other citizens for a talk with Teresa MacCartney, acting chancellor of the University System of Georgia, to learn how to “Put Your Name To It,” as demonstrated by MacCartney’s career.

MacCartney will sit down with Megan Moye, chief marketing officer at Meybohm and chair of the Chamber’s 2021 Women In Business Committee, to share her story of success that ultimately led to her name on Building II of the Georgia Cyber Center.

This event begins at 6 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Crowne Plaza, North Augusta.

McCartney became acting chancellor of the University System of Georgia on July 1.  She oversees 26 public colleges and universities with a $9.8 billion annual budget, 48,000 faculty and staff and more than 341,000 students. The Georgia Public Library System and the Georgia Archives are also part of the University System, which has been recognized nationally for its efforts in cost savings and student recruiting . Prior to becoming acting chancellor, MacCartney was USG’s executive vice chancellor for administration. 

Augusta Metro Chamber: Doing Business With SRNS on Nov. 18

Savannah River Nuclear Solutions committed over $350M in procurements to small businesses last fiscal year. This session will provide valuable information to assist you in preparing to compete for future opportunities.

Agyemang is responsible for managing, planning, directing and monitoring the activities of the Small Business Program and key supplier relationships. He has oversight of the SRNS Mentor-Protégé Program, a DOE/HQ initiative to assist energy related small businesses in enhancing their business and technical capabilities. He is responsible for managing supplier relationships and all supplier development activities to ensure the successful completion of the SRS mission.

Prior to joining SRNS, Agyemang was a senior supply chain planning analyst with the Northrop Grumman Corp. Some of his major projects were implementing lean-six sigma improvements in the pipe supply chain, leading the Category Management strategy for commodity procurements, and establishing the Capstone Program, a talent management program for high potential employees. He is an APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional.

Junior League of Augusta Holiday Market

The Junior League of Augusta Holiday Market will be Nov. 12-14 at the Columbia County Exhibition Center in Grovetown.

Every ticket purchased promotes the Junior League of Augusta’s mission to support the community by improving the lives of women and children.

The hours are 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
