No one style has influenced Chapel Hart, a trio out of Mississippi who’ll be playing at Rose Hill Estates in Aiken Friday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.

While the group is classified as country, the chords of other genres can be heard within the trio’s songs.

“We have gospel influences and blues. My grandfather loved the blues,” said Danica Hart, the lead singer, who along with her sister, Devynn Hart, and cousin Trea Swindle, form the group. “I grew up listening to Southern rock, classic rock. I grew up listening to the good stuff.”

Those meld into the country sound with rich harmonies.

The country/rock blend was evident in the group’s 2020 single “Jesus and Alcohol,” which has a country twang along with some blues and rock rhythms. ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons starred in the video as the pastor who has to break it to the bride that her groom has jilted her at the altar.

Devynn Hart said the members formed a bond with Gibbons’ after his appearance and refer to him as “Uncle Billy” now.

The group’s latest song is called “You Can Have Him Jolene.”

This isn’t the first time Chapel Hart has played at Rose Hill. The group visited in January too. In fact, the historic Aiken home that has been turned into a bed and breakfast with two on-site restaurants is a favorite stop for the women.

“We’re excited every time we come to Aiken,” said Danica Hart. “It feels like family.”

And it doesn’t hurt that Chef Jeffrey Hairston makes meals they love.

“We call him ‘Chef Cheffrey,’” she said. “Sometimes, when we’re on the road coming through South Carolina, we’ll call Chef Cheffrey to see if he’s got something new to try.”

The women said they are looking forward to having some of Hairston’s cuisine as well as seeing Aiken at a different time of the year.

Danica Hart said this will be the first visit to the city in the fall.

The Chapel Hart concert isn’t the only event at Rose Hill Halloween weekend. Prior to the concert at 5:30 p.m. Friday, there will be a children’s Halloween party on site with candy and a costume contest. An adult Halloween party will be from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday with a Haunted Speakeasy, a  Halloween themed menu and music by Third Time Charmers featuring Mayor Rick Osbon.
