The Augusta GreenJackets have announced that 11-year Major League Baseball veteran Charlie Culberson will be inducted into the GreenJackets Hall of Fame on Friday, Aug. 22.

Culberson, a Georgia native, played parts of four seasons with the Braves and is being honored for his contributions to both the GreenJackets and the Atlanta Braves organization.

Culberson, drafted by the San Francisco Giants in 2007 out of Calhoun High School in Calhoun, Ga., spent two seasons with the GreenJackets in 2008 and 2009, appearing in 213 games.

He becomes the eighth player to join the prestigious Hall of Fame, joining former players such as Adam Duvall, Sergio Romo, and Jon Lester, according to a press release from the Augusta GreenJackets.

To celebrate his induction, Culberson will be present at SRP Park for a special ceremony before the GreenJackets’ 7:05 p.m. game against the Columbia Fireflies. He will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at 6:50 p.m., followed by an on-field celebration of his career.

Fans will have the chance to meet Culberson at a Meet & Greet event down the third-base line at the 3rd Base Bud Bar. Each fan will be allowed one photo and one autograph, with photos of Culberson available for purchase.

The first 1,000 fans to enter the stadium will receive a Charlie Culberson bobblehead, sponsored by Augusta Technical College.

Fans who want to ensure access to both the bobblehead and the Meet & Greet can purchase a VIP Meet & Greet Ticket Package.

The $40 package includes a guaranteed bobblehead, VIP access to the Meet & Greet from 6 to 6:40 p.m., an autographed photo, and a seat in the Third Base Bullpen Patio with an all-you-can-eat buffet.

The VIP package will be available starting Friday, July 25.
