The Mullins Crossing Chick-fil-A brought out its bovine mascot for a children’s Easter story time on Wednesday.

The restaurant chain’s cow mascot helped Social Media Manager Kayla Russell read two books, “Spot’s First Easter” by Eric Hill and “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle to young guests in its indoor playground area.

Afterward, kids had the chance to participate in a caterpillar-themed craft.

Bringing community together

Russell said that while the Mullins Crossing Chick-fil-A has regular community events, bringing in the cow has been a relatively new concept since late last year.

“We wanted to implement our cow so that he was more involved in the store, and had that connection with kids,” she said.

She also said that the restaurant wants to “encourage kids to read and inspire their creativity” while bringing community together.

“We just want people to have a remarkable experience at our location…it’s always special when the cow makes an appearance and guests from 2 to 92 want a picture,” she said. “We just want to be involved in our community, you know, and right now finances are a little tight for a lot of people and sometimes coming here for a meal with us is a sacrifice for them, and we want them just to have a great experience.”

Upcoming events at this Chick-fil-A, which is located at 4201 Washington Road, include a trivia night on Tuesday April 29 from 5-6pm. The restaurant also holds breakfast bingo every Thursday morning.
