Christmas greetings for travelers at Augusta’s airport

Augusta Regional Airport is offering 13 direct flights to accommodate the influx of visitors for this year’s Masters Tournament.
Date: December 17, 2021

Holiday travelers passing through Augusta Regional Airport will be treated to the sights and sounds of Christmas as local entertainers perform from Dec. 17 to Dec. 24.

The airport is hosting a performance by local musicians each day in the main terminal building. This year’s performers will be JaVonne Jones, John Hobbs, Fred Williams, Adam Thompson Harris, Matthew Dahlheimer, Bill Karp and Roger & Berita.

“We have done that for several years. We invite local artists, musicians, that is to come out and perform in our hold area, for those that are departing the airport,” said Lauren Smith, airport public relations manager. “So, they’ll be out there singing holiday favorites, taking requests. It is a lot of fun.”

The airport will also host a special guest for three days.

“Kids and adults as well. We hear everybody kind of giggling whenever they see Santa and so that’s always fun, even staff we always have to go down there and get our annual picture with Santa,” Smith said.

The airport management is sweetening the pot for the Christmas season.
