Columbia County Parks, Recreation and Events Department is preparing for a night filled with holiday magic and festive cheer on Thursday, Dec. 5, from 4–9 p.m. in downtown Evans.

Sponsored by Doctors Hospital of Augusta, the community is inviting locals to celebrate Christmas with an evening of fun at the Evans Towne Center, located at 7016 Evans Town Center Blvd.

“This year’s celebration promises something for everyone to enjoy,” stated a press release from the Columbia County Parks, Recreation and Events Department.

Starting at 4 p.m., guests can stroll through The Plaza and The Market Building, located at 7025 Evans Town Center Blvd., where over 100 vendors will be showcasing handcrafted gifts, seasonal treats and festive decorations.

“There’s something for everyone, whether you’re looking for the perfect gift or simply want to enjoy the festive atmosphere,” stated a press release from the Columbia County Parks, Recreation and Events Department.

A chance to snap photos with Santa Claus or The Grinch will be available from 4–5:30 p.m. and again from 7–8 p.m. to create lasting memories for the whole family.

Live music will also be playing throughout the evening with festive tunes filling the air as locals explore the night.

“The highlight of the night! Gather with us at 6:30 p.m. at Evans Towne Center Park for the spectacular Tree Lightning Ceremony, marking the official start of the holiday season in Columbia County,” stated a press release from the Columbia County Parks, Recreation and Events Department.

In addition to the Tree Lightning Ceremony, the Evans Towne Center Park will also be illuminated with twinkling Christmas lights to create a “picturesque holiday wonderland.”

“Join us for an unforgettable evening of holiday cheer,” stated a press release from the Columbia County Parks, Recreation and Events Department. “We look forward to celebrating Christmas in Columbia County with you.”
