The City of Grovetown is gearing up for the first Downtown Jam.
Grovetown Public Information Officer Jordan Johnson said the Downtown Jam is the first food truck event for the family that will be held on Friday, April 26 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Municipal Court.
“We’ll have a DJ on site, we’ll have a bounce house for the kiddos to come and play around on and several food vendors providing something good to eat for our crowds that come by,” Johnson said.

The food vendors who are scheduled to be present include the Fry King, DJ’s American Grill, Lucy’s Tacos, Pop’s Kettle Corn and Celebrations and the last one is Mama’s Maryland Crab Cakes.
“We’ve got a diverse array of options for our patrons to choose from and we just hope everybody comes out and takes advantage of this unique and first of its kind event,” Johnson said.

That next day, Saturday, April 27, the City of Grovetown and Mayor Gary Jones are hosting a community clean-up. The clean-up will take place from 9 a.m. to noon, Johnson said, with those participating needing to arrive at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall.
“We want to be able to provide everyone with the right amount of tools, garbage bags and gloves, trash grabbers, things of that nature,” Johnson said. “We will be providing lunch at noon for our volunteers.”
Those interested in volunteering need to call Liberty Park Community Center at 706-860-7691. For more information, visit the Grovetown Leisure and Recreation Facebook page.
