Women’s Golf Day, founded in 2016, is a global movement that aims to empower women and girls through golf, according to a press release from Club Car. Each year, thousands of events are held in over 80 countries, uniting women through shared experiences both on and off the course.
“Many women want to play golf but don’t know where to start,” said Elisa Gaudet, founder of Women’s Golf Day. “By partnering with courses and communities that welcome them in, we’re helping more women find their place in the game.”
In addition to Gaudet, Cher Best, president of Cher’s Sisters Only Club, also shared her excitement about Women’s Golf Day and the upcoming event.
“Golf promotes total well-being — physically, mentally, and socially,” Best said. “There is nothing better than female-o-ship, and this is a space where women can learn, connect, and have fun. Women are indeed winning.”
During the event, throughout the day, teaching professionals will be available to offer instruction and support, catering to both beginners and those looking to refine their golf skills, according to a press release from Club Car.
“We’re honored to host Augusta’s Women’s Golf Day celebration,” said Andrew Brooks, owner of The Practice Club at Jones Creek. “Golf is a game for everyone, and we’re committed to creating a place where women feel welcome and confident learning and growing in the sport.”
The event is free, but attendees are encouraged to register in advance at www.clubcar.com/womensgolf. Donations made during the event will benefit the Cher’s Sisters Only Club scholarship fund.
