The health inspection world grades a score below 70 as failing, and while no restaurants or swimming pools received a failing score from Feb. 19-23, one did get a score in the 70s. No businesses in Columbia County were inspected this week.
Auntie Anne’s Cinnabon Planet Smoothie, 3450 Wrightsboro Road STE 2328, Augusta scored a 75. Some of the inspector’s comments included: “observed live cockroach activity” and “observed employees not change gloves between different tasks.”
Other comments included: “observed no Serv Safe certification,” “observed no employee health reporting agreement for employees,” “observed pepperoni, cheese, and hot dogs stored with no labels,” “observed old inspection (2/8/2023) posted,” “observed scoops stored in cinnamon sugar and energy powders,” “observed wet nesting of stacked dishes,” “observed expired test strips for sanitizer,” and “observed build up in ice machine.”

The second lowest score was an 80, which was received by Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Pool, 2175 Gordon Highway, Augusta. Inspector’s comments included: “phone not dialing. Repair/replace to be able to dial local 911 system” and “unstick flowmeter float or repair as needed.”
The third lowest score was an 84, belonging to Holiday Inn Express (Food Service), 444 Broad St., Augusta. Inspector’s comments included: “observed potentially hazardous food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Cold TCS foods must be held at 41F or below” and “post CFSM, most recent inspection.”
