Columbia County advanced voting sees 919 total ballots received after first week

The first week of advanced voting in Columbia County wrapped up on Saturday, May 4 for the general primary/non-partisan general election and District 3 special election.

According to the Columbia County Board of Elections, 39 voters cast their ballots on Saturday, May 11, with 25 people casting their votes at G3 and 14 at the former Euchee Creek Library.

That brings the number of ballots cast during the first week of in-person advanced voting to a total of 689 ballots cast. The Board of Elections has issued 762 absentee by mail ballots and received 230 back. This brings the total of ballots received to 919. 

As of Saturday, May 4, 679 Republican ballots have been cast, 229 Democratic and 11 non-partisan ballots have been cast. 

Advanced voting will continue Monday, May 6-Friday, May 17, with a second day of Saturday voting day set for May 11.
