Columbia County Animal Services have recently won Animal Services Agency of the Year for 2024 on March 1.

This was presented by the Georgia Animal Control Association (GACA) at the 37th annual conference in Tybee Island. It was presented to Linda Glasscock, animal services manager, and Jeremiah Ford, animal services officer.

“The team is so deserving of this recognition an award,” said Community Services Director John Luton. “Led by Mrs. Glasscock, they take great pride in their work, the shelter, and the animals they care for. They host many events throughout the year that only bring people to the shelter but also benefit the community.”

This award shows the dedication and commitment the Columbia County Animal Services have towards providing excellent services and fostering safer and more humane environments for animals. The outstanding operations, the innovative strategies, and the proactive outreach programs set the Columbia County Animal Services apart as an admirable standard for animal care, both within the community and throughout the state.

“Their greatest accomplishment is maintaining a 0% euthanasia rate for time and space,” said Luton. “Congratulations to the entire time on this outstanding accomplishment.”
