Starting Thursday, Jan. 4, until Friday, Jan. 5, the Columbia County Roads and Bridges Department will be temporarily closing Faircloth Drive – weather permitting.

While access will be allowed to the Columbia County Library and the Government Complex, no through traffic will be granted from Evans Towne Center Boulevard to Government Center Way.

“Whenever you approach a work zone, slow down; allow extra distance between vehicles; watch for advanced warning signs; obey road crew flaggers; and expect the unexpected,” a press release from the county stated. “If possible, please plan to take an alternate route and/or allow additional time for commuting during this timeframe.”

This road closure will proceed the county’s closure of Lewiston Road, which is scheduled to start at noon on Thursday, Jan. 18, at until Monday, Jan. 22, at 6 a.m.
