Construction on the Horizon South Parkway widening project will bring temporary lane closures and traffic shifts next week, according to county officials.

Contractors with E.R. Snell are scheduled to continue work from Monday, Aug. 25, through Friday, Aug. 29, weather permitting.

Daily lane closures will take place between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. north of Steiner Way. Additional nighttime closures are set from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Thursday, in the same area.

Officials noted that the closures will be intermittent and not occur at the same time, according to a press release from Columbia County.

Motorists are encouraged to expect delays, drive cautiously, and reduce speed when traveling through the construction zone.

Drivers are also advised to consider alternate routes or allow extra commuting time during the week.
