The Columbia County Board of Commissioners will discuss the 2025 millage rate during the meeting on Tuesday, July 15.

Staff is proposing a rollback rate to 4.36 mills for Net M&O and 0.454 for debt services for a total millage rate of 4.814. The Net M&O millage rate was 4.568 in 2024. The Columbia County Management and Internal Services Committee approved certification of the estimated rollback rate in June so it could be included on the annual notice of assessment, which is now required by state law.

Staff is recommending approval of the resolution.

Commissioners will also discuss a proposed agreement with C3 AI for property appraisal assistance for the Board of Assessors. The item was discussed by the Management and Internal Services Committee at the July 8 meeting.

To help streamline the assessment process, the county is looking at using C3 AI, which County Manager Scott Johnson said will run AI in the background to ensure assessments are as fair as possible and use as much information as possible. The program can also get more information than one appraiser can by looking at a few comps.

Staff is recommending approval of the agreement.

The Columbia County Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. in the auditorium at the Evans Government Center Complex. To view the full agenda, visit columbiacountyga.gov.
